4th Annual Colloquium of
The Gregorian Institute of Canada
August 13-16, 2009
McMaster University, Hamilton (Ontario, Canada)

hamilton

Plenary speaker:

Joseph Dyer
"Observations on the Origins of the Antiphonale Missarum"

Featured artists:
Juan Carlos Asensio, Director of the Schola Antiqua of Spain

A busy team of volunteers led by William Renwick has worked relentlessly over the last few months in preparation for the Institute’s upcoming Fourth Annual Colloquium, which takes place at McMaster University in Hamilton (ON) from August 13th to 16th 2009.

In addition to our principal guest speaker Joseph Dyer, 16 other scholars from Canada, the United States, Great Britain, Germany and France will present the results of their current research.

Almost a dozen practical workshops have been scheduled, including three workshops led by Juan Carlos Asensio Palacios (Spain).

The Colloquium program also includes several liturgical offices (Lauds, Vespers, Compline, and Sunday Mass), in which Colloquium participants are invited to take an active part. Hamilton Schola Cantorum will perform the opening concert on Thursday August 13th. In addition, Montreal’s Schola Saint Grégoire, on this occasion directed by Juan Carlos Asencio Palacios, will perform a concert of treasures from a wide range of plainchant repertoires on Friday August 14th. They will be joined for this performance by Hamilton’s own Stillman Matheson on the organ.

There is something for everyone and every level at this event!
We look forward to welcoming you in great numbers for an intense and enriching experience!

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN
